#4450 is one of thankfully many surviving examples of the Chicago Transit Authority's "L" cars, which operated on elevated, electrified trackage above the busy streets of Chicago. Built in 1924 by the Cincinnati Car Company, #4450 served the system diligently in regular commuter service until 1973, when many of the 4000-series cars (built from 1914-1925) began being withdrawn in favor of newer units. Since arriving to the MTM in 1976, #4450 has become a regular sight on our passengers trains.
